Dr. Swe Swe Latt currently serves as the acting Head of the Department of Public Health Medicine. Additionally, she holds the Head of the Medical Education Unit position at RUMC.

Dr. Swe has an extensive educational background and professional experience in public health and medical education. She earned her M.B., B.S. in 2002, followed by an M. Med.Sc. (Public Health) in 2006, and recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Profession Education (PgDipHPE) in 2024.

She has made significant contributions to the field with 20 years of experience teaching public health to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has worked in community medicine in Malaysia for over a decade and held various academic positions, including Senior Lecturer at AIMST University, Lecturer at International Islamic University (IIUM), and Senior Lecturer at multiple universities in Myanmar since 2004.

She has fostered collaborations with various university departments and authored approximately 25 publications. Her research interests span primary care, health promotion and education, adolescent health, mental health, reproductive health, and medical education, reflecting her comprehensive approach to public health and medical education.
