DR THINESH RAJASINGAM

Dr Thinesh completed his medical training at International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as well as the University of Adelaide, South Australia. He obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists after completing postgraduate training in South Australia, across multiple inpatient and community settings in public healthcare. He worked as a consultant psychiatrist overseeing large caseloads and full multidisciplinary teams in Marion Specialist Community Mental Health Services South Australia as well as the Psychiatry Inpatient Outlier Service in Flinders Medical Centre. He was involved in governance and service development including clinical review guideline development, the Community Treatment Order compliance project and community mental health reforms for Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
Dr Thinesh also worked as a consultant psychiatrist in community and emergency settings for Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania. He obtained Associate Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators in 2022. He was a lecturer in Flinders University teaching undergraduate students, and has also been a postgraduate examiner for the binational RANZCP clinical assessments. In 2024 he returned to Malaysia as senior lecturer in RCSI + UCD Campus Malaysia.
I teach, examine and oversee general, adult and old age psychiatry for undergraduate clinical medical students in their Psychiatry rotation under the POPFM module, RUMC. I am also club advisor to the RUMC Touch Rugby Club.
