Attire

How to Wear Your Graduation Attire

  • You will collect the academic gown with the mortar board and the hood.
  • The gown will sit squarely on your shoulders, with the sleeves falling between your elbow and wrist.
  • To ensure the hood stays firmly, secure the hood with safety pins on both shoulders. Use the small loop inside the hood to attach it to a shirt button or jacket button.
  • The mortar board should sit flat on your head, with the shorter peak facing forward and the longer peak goes to the back.
  • You may like to pin the mortarboard with hairpins.
