Short Bio
Dr Keith Perdue is Professor of Family Medicine and Head of Department at RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin. He is a Member of the Irish College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK.) He has Higher Diplomas in Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Occupational Medicine and Clinical Leadership.
His research interest is in the use of artificial intelligence in medical teaching, and medical use. He also has an interest in medical error, and how students and young doctors cope with this.
For over 30 years he and his colleagues ‘Looked after Dubliners’ Health’ in a city centre medical practice.
His special interests include post-graduate GP Training (he was Chair of both the Steering Committee and the Trainers’ workshop for many years), as well as being a GP Trainer to 15 trainees over the years. His other special interest is Occupational Health; as well as having a number of ‘blue-chip’ corporate clients such as Deutsche bank, Virgin Media, he also served in a number of roles for the Irish Society of Occupational Medicine, which included being its President.
Clinical / Industry Experience
Professor Perdue has extensive clinical experience as a practicing General Practitioner, Occupational Medicine Consultant and medical teacher. He is on the Specialist Register of the Irish Medical Council for both General Practice and Occupational Medicine.
