Research Interests

Dr. Lee specializes in separation science and analytical chemistry, focusing on food safety and clinical bioanalysis. Her research involves developing high-sensitivity methodologies using microextraction techniques and green chemistry principles. Key domains include molecularly imprinted polymers and novel sorbents for detecting trace contaminants like mycotoxins and metabolites.

Current Research & Projects
  1. Metabolomic Analysis of Malaysian Eurycoma longifolia Jack (Tongkat Ali) and Evaluation of Their Biological Activities

This study examines Malaysian native plant species, namely, Eurycoma longifolia (locally known as white TA), Polyalthia bullata (black TA), Rennellia paniculata, by analyzing the phytochemical constituents of their methanol, ethanol, and acetone root extracts.

  2. Synthesis of Nanoscale Iron and Cobalt Oxides by the Green Method and Using Them to Remove Cu,Cd and Ni Ions from Aqueous Solution

This research integrates two complementary approaches: it advances sensitive analytical methods, specifically microextraction and spectrophotometry, to detect trace heavy metals and organic pollutants in the Tigris River, Iraq, while simultaneously developing green-synthesized compounds to remove heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions.
