Short Bio
Dr Thinesh completed his medical training at International Medical University and the University of Adelaide. Obtaining FRANZCP after completing postgraduate training in South Australia, he is an adult and general psychiatrist who has worked in both South Australia and Tasmania. His clinical experience spans both public and private psychiatry across youth, adulthood and old age, with special interests in community psychiatry, psychotherapy, transcultural psychiatry and psychogeriatrics. Lecturing undergraduates in Flinders University, South Australia for years and completing the AFRACMA program, he is also passionate about academic teaching and medical leadership. He has also been a postgraduate examiner for the RANZCP clinical assessments. He has now returned to his native Penang to further his interest in medical education with RUMC.
Clinical / Industry Experience
Extensive clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient domains of public and private psychiatry, across youth, adulthood and old age. This encompasses South Australia, Tasmania and Pulau Pinang (sessional specialist in Hospital Lam Wah Ee). Invited speaker at multiple conferences related to mental health and medical leadership in Pulau Pinang.
