Short Bio
Dr. Teoh May Winn is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine at RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus, where she teaches undergraduate medical students and conducts research on primary care practice, medical education, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She holds an MD from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and the conjoint MAFP/FRACGP postgraduate qualification, recognising accredited specialist training in family medicine in Malaysia and Australia. Her clinical work spans primary care clinics across Penang, and she actively seeks collaborations that advance primary care and medical education.
Clinical / Industry Experience
Dr. Teoh May Winn has over 15 years of clinical experience spanning primary care, maternal and child health, chronic disease management, and multidisciplinary service delivery. Her work as a Family Medicine Specialist in Penang and Kedah includes leadership in community health, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives. She has collaborated with public health agencies through roles in district health clinics and national programmes, including COVID 19 response efforts.
Her applied research covers antenatal care, child health, medical education, climate health behaviour, and community hygiene practices, supported by institutional and national grants. She continues to engage in collaborative projects that strengthen primary care, improve education quality, and enhance community health outcomes.

Research Interests
Her current research focuses on primary care practice, medical education, and community health, including work related to student preparedness, hygiene practices, and health related behaviours. She is also developing interests in evidence synthesis, with involvement in scoping and ongoing systematic review work. In addition, she maintains continuing interest in maternal and child health through collaborative studies.

- Follow‑up Care of Preterm, Small for Gestational Age and Low Birth Weight Infants: A Scoping Review (Ongoing) A WHO collaborative project supporting improved continuity of care for vulnerable infants. Co‑investigator.
- Behavioural Hygiene, Skin Infections, and Lice Infestations in Orang Asli Communities (Ongoing) A study assessing hygiene practices and common infections among children and caregivers. RUMC Research Grant RC‑101; Co‑investigator.
- Climate Change Literacy and Health Behaviour in Medical Students (Ongoing) A qualitative project exploring how medical students understand climate‑related health issues and how this shapes behaviour. RUMC Research Grant RC‑95; Co‑supervisor.
- Prevalence and Factors Associated with Late Antenatal Booking in Northern Malaysia (Completed) A study assessing how common late antenatal booking is in Perlis, Kedah, and Penang, and factors contributing to delayed initiation of antenatal care.
